ON OBAMA'S INAUGURATION DAY (I)

THE GREAT MELTING POT*

The Mixed Families in Washington D.C.

Acceptance is the right attitude. The baptism of baby Zachy at St Mathews Catholic Church in Washington D.C. Peruvian mom and American dad.

There is a growing concern within the white American community regarding the fact that as the Latino population grows in a few years they might become a minority.

The positive attitude is to fully embrace this change and honor the ‘melting pot’ expression so often used to by the white Americans to defend the position that they have an extremely diverse and open minded society.

In the US all white blacked mixed people are considered African-Americans
(The politically correct expression) and Latinos are Latinos/Hispanics not really white!

Stella and Adam

They got married last July from his small hometown in the heart of the Country the first time Adam saw an African-American person in real life was when he was already an adult in College!

When he fell in Love with Stella his parents were very concerned as all they had in their minds were the negative TV stereotypes about “blacks”. After meeting Stella and her family all prejudice was gone.

Most Adam’s friends are white and Stella’s friends are black. So, at the wedding ceremony was very interesting to see about 8 white best men and all bride’s maids black. All those white young fellows seem to have had there first really close contact with African American girls at that event, by their interaction, I believe that the number of mixed families in that Iowa little Town will start rising very soon.

Family Night-out!
