Where Are You Going?
in Reflections (Last album by Miriam Makeba)
Composed by Hugh Masekela
The mud of my feet, mother,
Is from the long journey
I made, deluded that at the end
I should find wisdom and peace.
I trudged the hot red roads
And the hills that strive to touch the stars,
And came upon a clear river
In the folds of a valley.

I made, deluded that at the end
I should find wisdom and peace.
I trudged the hot red roads
And the hills that strive to touch the stars,
And came upon a clear river
In the folds of a valley.

What a "fair way" to leave this world!!!!! Mama Àfrica, in this case we can say that she fougth for our Freedom an Rights until the last minute of her live...
Peace and Love for all of us.
Yes. You are so right...
She's one of those African and Universal treasures I so wished could last forever!
But I am sure she will rest in peace and will continue to look after us, especially us African Women, from wherever she has gone.
Just to note that it is exactly a year to the day I posted here this cover...
Syabonga Mama Afrika!
Miriam, Mama Afrika, em mim pedaços imensos delas...
